Choose live estimates or fixed costs
Live estimates recalculate completed work using today’s material, packing, and production costs. Fixed cost tracking preserves an order’s cost basis so later price or recipe changes do not rewrite it.

Enable fixed cost tracking
- Finish the material prices, packing costs, and production costs you want to use for new work.
- Open Financials and choose Enable fixed cost tracking.
- Review the explanation for new and older orders, then confirm.
Review costs at Ready to Ship
When an order leaves Packing, Meldsy opens the actual-cost review. Check each material, packing supply, quantity, unit cost, and production-cost line before confirming the total.

- A missing purchase lot or unit cost is shown for review.
- Add a material, packing supply, or production-cost line when the order used something outside its defaults.
- Tracked inventory is deducted when the order is closed.
Reconcile completed orders
In Closed orders, open the costs-to-review filter and choose Reconcile period. Select the date range and cost basis before applying snapshots in chronological order.
- Historical FIFO uses purchase lots available on each order date, oldest first.
- Current-cost estimate freezes today’s weighted-average unit costs and marks the result as an estimate.
- Import older purchase history before using Historical FIFO.
- Orders with incomplete inventory history remain estimated for manual review.
Correct a frozen order with an adjustment
Open the closed order’s cost status and add a dated positive or negative adjustment with a clear reason. The original snapshot remains unchanged; the adjustment forms a visible audit trail on top of it.
Switch back to live estimates only when intended
Choose Use live estimates when you want Financials to recalculate shop costs from the current setup again. Inventory and purchase-lot history remain available, but the report no longer uses fixed snapshots as its cost basis while live mode is active.
