Marketing

Configure marketing automation rules

Create Pinterest drafts or automatic schedules from listing changes and route storefront sections to boards.

Turn rules on and choose an approval mode

Open Marketing, then Automations. In Event-based automations, new accounts start with all six rules off. Enable only the rules that match your promotion plan, adjust their thresholds or approval modes, then choose Save. Reset restores the last saved rule, seasonal dates, and routing settings. Every content-creating rule can save a draft for review or publish fully automatically; Low stock pauses work and does not create a Pin.

Know what each rule does

New listing

Creates marketing work when a newly synced eligible listing appears.

Restocked

Creates back-in-stock marketing work when quantity rises above zero.

Bestseller

Creates marketing work after the listing reaches the saved units-sold threshold within the saved number of days.

Price reduced

Creates sale marketing work after a price reduction reaches the saved minimum percentage.

Low stock

Pauses pending marketing when quantity reaches the saved threshold.

Seasonal opportunity

Suggests listings whose titles or sections match the saved keywords before an annual seasonal date, using the configured lead time.

Save seasonal dates

  1. Enable Seasonal opportunity.
  2. Choose Add date, enter an occasion, and select its date from the calendar. Dates repeat every year.
Meldsy Seasonal opportunity editor with annual date selectors, occasion names, listing keywords, lead days, and Save dates.
Add annual marketing dates, target relevant listings with keywords, and save them with the automation settings.
  3. Enter comma-separated listing keywords to limit suggestions to matching titles or sections. Leave keywords blank only when every eligible listing should be considered.
  4. Choose the number of lead days for preparing content.
  5. Choose Save dates in the seasonal editor, or Save at the top of Automations. Both save the staged automation and routing changes together.

Set useful thresholds

  • For Bestseller, choose the units sold and lookback period that represent real momentum for your shop.
  • For Price reduced, choose a minimum percentage large enough to justify sale messaging.
  • For Low stock, leave enough inventory for orders that may arrive after a customer sees a Pin.
  • For Seasonal opportunity, use the lead days needed to review and publish content before each saved annual date.

Route listings to Pinterest boards

Choose a Pinterest board for an Etsy section, eBay category, or an entire connected store. A section-specific mapping takes precedence over the store fallback.

  1. Open Marketing, then Automations.
  2. In Automation routing, find the storefront section or store fallback.
  3. Choose the intended Pinterest board.
  4. Repeat for other sections, or leave No automatic board when every draft should be assigned manually.
  5. Choose Save to commit the event-based automation and routing changes together.

Understand duplicate and failure protection

  • A saved listing change is handled once, so repeated checks do not create the same automation result again.
  • Repeating campaigns keep the selected one-to-four-photo set together and rotate caption templates across cycles.
  • One failed listing does not block other eligible listing work.
  • Temporary Pinterest failures retry later, while permanent failures stay visible for review.
