Set up materials, costs, and packing for a listing

Build the reusable Meldsy recipe that powers inventory estimates, costs, packing, and customer instructions.

Add the production recipe

Open a listing and assign the production materials used by one sellable item. Enter amounts in compatible units so Meldsy can calculate available capacity and deduct inventory accurately.

Set required materials window with sample packing-list items and amount fields.
Select each material used by one item, then enter its amount and unit.

Add non-material production costs

Add labor, machine time, electricity, or other per-item costs that are not tracked as materials. Update these amounts before finishing the orders they should apply to. Once an order’s costs are frozen, later changes will not rewrite it.

Record one clear per-item line for each non-material production cost.

Add packing supplies

Attach the mailers, boxes, inserts, or other packing items used by the listing. Packing supplies can participate in the same inventory and cost reporting as other materials.

Attach customer instructions

Use reusable QR links, printable instruction images, or both for assembly, care, or listing-specific guidance. A listing can use a default set and variation rules can choose a different set for particular storefront options.

What Can Make means

Can Make estimates how many items your current Meldsy inventory can support. It does not change the quantity shown on a marketplace. Marketplace quantities change only when you explicitly enable linked-listing quantity sync.
