Understand Shopify ship-by dates

Use Shopify’s fulfillment deadlines in Meldsy and understand why some orders show Not provided.

Where the date comes from

Meldsy reads Shopify’s fulfillBy deadline from the order’s fulfillment groups. When the full group list is available and valid dates are supplied, Meldsy displays the earliest supplied deadline.

If Shopify supplies no usable deadline, Meldsy shows Not provided. It does not use the order-created date, an estimated arrival date, or fulfillAt—the date when fulfillment can begin—as a substitute.

Review fulfillment time in Shopify

  1. In Shopify admin, open Settings → Shipping and delivery and find the fulfillment-time or estimated-delivery-date settings available to your store.
  2. Set the fulfillment time to match how long you actually need to prepare and hand over an order. Review the available business-day and delivery-date options in Shopify.
  3. Open an eligible order in Shopify and check whether it has a Fulfill by deadline. A customer-facing arrival estimate alone is not the dispatch deadline Meldsy needs.
  4. Let the order refresh in Meldsy, or use Sync. Compare the imported deadline with the one Shopify supplies for that order.

If the date is missing or looks unexpected

  • Confirm the order itself has a supplied Fulfill by date in Shopify.
  • Check that the app has read_merchant_managed_fulfillment_orders and the rest of the required scopes. Fix denied access before retrying the import.
  • An order may contain several fulfillment groups. Meldsy uses the earliest available deadline.
  • A date held only in a third-party delivery app is not automatically mapped into Meldsy. Use the native Shopify deadline where available.
